You will work directly with the founders on the core of the product: the system that reads a borrower reporting pack and returns a structured, source-linked credit file. This is the part of AZ2 that everything else depends on, and the person who owns it sets the technical direction of the company.
What you will do
- Design and build the document intake pipeline: parsing, extraction, spreading and covenant testing.
- Keep every extracted figure linked back to the page and clause it came from.
- Build the evaluation harness that tells us when an extraction is right and when it is not.
- Work beside credit analysts to turn their judgement into testable product behaviour.
- Take features from a whiteboard sketch to production, including the unglamorous parts.
What we look for
- Five or more years building production software, with real ownership of a hard system.
- Strong TypeScript or Python, and comfort with distributed data pipelines.
- Practical experience applying language models to document-heavy problems.
- Willingness to sit with users and change your mind quickly when the work says so.
Helpful, not required
- Exposure to credit, lending or financial documents.
- Early-stage experience where you were one of the first engineers.
